Today Shirley and Ava planted sunflowers

I took this photograph of Teddy in the morning.  I think I got to him before he had his coffee.

This is my associate Sharon, production manager, at Synectics Media.

She made it very clear early on after I announced my 365 project that she loves to have her photograph taken. She is my hero considering everyone else ran out of the room. I think you will be seeing more of Sharon as the year progresses.

I took my camera to the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP)  Michigan board lunch meeting. It was hosted at KMS photography in Dearborn. I thought I might find a couple victims, I mean subjects, to photograph today.

I decided to pick on Chris Jablonski, photographer and President of the Michigan ASMP chapter.  He always has a good look. Actually, I liked the shirt he was wearing too.

I planned on shooting natural light with black and white in mind.  I believe this selection is a successful portrait.

Sadly, the shots including his shirt were not as strong. Should I have kept him in the cold to get the best shot with the shirt?

Now that I’m shooting everyday, I have my camera with me more often.  I had a work meeting at the Bean and Leaf cafe in Royal Oak MI with Greg Evans of Synectics media. I took the opportunity to  snap a few shots of him while he worked.

I like this image because of his intense look. But, I do find the crop and composition very uncomfortable.  That may also add to the strained and intense feeling of the image as a whole.  Do you agree?
