Today I worked the ASMP booth at the Michigan PPM (photography) expo.
My job: Encourage people to sign the ASMP email list.
My tactic: Cute 4 year old Chinese girl.
People with cameras can not resist such a great photo opportunity.
Tomorrow morning I’m speaking at the event. Ava will not be there with me because then she would steal the show.

I used my 135 portrait lens. The light is from a lamp in my home. The effect is based on lowering the saturation in the photograph.
Cute is cute. Photographers learn quickly that kids and pets are great subjects.
While Ava was getting dressed today our cat, Toulouse, offered to help pick out today’s outfit. Fortunately, it took him a long time to choose and I had enough time to get my camera and take a few pictures.

I snapped this photograph of Ava as we were going out the door to pick up Kelly from a friends house. It’s a beautiful winter Sunday - I think we are going to go back out and play in the snow later.

I love my family. My wife and daughters. My youngest Ava (4) has my heart wrapped up in little knots and is my first image during this long project creating 365 images. Many photographs created and one displayed each day of the year.
I shot this using my 5D 100 2.8 Macro. It was taken in our living room with afternoon winter window light. I planned on it being a Black and white photograph, but changed my mind while editing.
