Today is our cat Toulouse Birthday. He is one year old today. (We removed the candle so he could eat his treat)

I took this photograph of Teddy in the morning.  I think I got to him before he had his coffee.

This is a photograph of a deer antler I (or a family member) found a long time ago in Montana.

Some days you have to photograph the ceramic cow on your desk.

My friend Cara brought Felix over just to be photographed for the blog. Very nice dog.  Isn’t he cute?

Today it’s Teddy’s turn.  Toulouse gets a lot of the attention, but Teddy is a great cat and deserves a little love.

Cute is cute. Photographers learn quickly that kids and pets are great subjects.

While Ava was getting dressed today our cat, Toulouse, offered to help pick out today’s outfit.  Fortunately, it took him a long time to choose and I had enough time to get my camera and take a few pictures.

Today when we looked out our 2nd floor window, someone was staring back.  With better eyesight too.

I ran to my office to grab my camera.  I put on my 200mm 2.8 lens and shot Raw knowing I might need to make adjustments.   I took a number of shots through the window screen.  I didn’t want to scare our friend away.

After I was happy with a few images I opened the screen to get a clearer shot and maybe a little closer.  The bird immediately spread its wings and flew away.  I tried to capture the flight, but all I got was an out of focus wing or two.

No award winner today. I have a feeling this image will be the extent of my animal nature photography in Detroit this winter.
